De Gregorio study collection
Included in the De Gregorio study-collection are two rare fragments from antiquity, and two superb examples of medieval illumination. The fragments measure only
1" high x 4" long, yet are powerful representations of the ancient world. The first fragment is part of a Bactrian contract; the second is from The Egyptian Book of the Dead. One illuminated leaf is the beginning of The Book of Judges, from a 13th-century Bible. The other leaf, commissioned by a member of the Court of France, is from a Psalter.
